tired, tired, AWAKE, tired, AWAKE, AWAKE, tired, tired.

Soooo.... did I already bitch about my schedule. If I did, I'm sorry, but seriously?

Monday: 11-1 and 4-6
Tuesday: 9-11 and 2-6
Wednesday: 4-6
Thursday: 9-1 and 4-6
Friday: 9-11 and 2-6

So EVERY DAY there's a three hour break in there. What were they thinking? Oh we're students, we don't have a life anyways? Adding up to that, we have a shit load of homework. Getting me to the point where I'm not going to sleep before 2 AM anyways (if you need prove, read when this entry was written, it's close to 1). What do they expect me to do? I can sleep in Wednesday, but then again, I would like a life sometimes as well, and see people, so Wednesday is going to be my social day, since Weekends are booked with homework as well.
I shouldn't complain. There are only 7 weeks to go, and I actually like this semester. The classes are good, the people are good, and it already seems to be slipping through my fingers. But just, this schedule.....
Anyways.
There is one good thing I've discovered today. A web series, called Dating Rules from my future Self. You should look at it. It kind of made my day.
I'm gonna go back to work now. Writing scenes (I told you it's a good semester. I finally get to write my own stuff.)
Lots of love

This means war.

This just made my upcoming birthday even better.
I'm allowed to turn 22 with some action chick flick and some good looking man, so this is good.

Little things

A little memory Marina left in my script... Really?

Bunny, Bunny. Jack Daniels is now officially a girl haha.

And we went thrift shopping.

Oh New York.

I miss New York constantly, but sometimes it's better and sometimes it's worse. At the moment I just want to be there, living and breathing in the ever lasting lights.
The play I watched today probably didn't really help, when one of the main character goes: "New York is the only dream I ever had"
Los Angeles can come down pretty hard on you. People here like to keep their distance, the drive goes away, everyone is working for themselves and no one really cares. I know you have to work for yourself, but then again NY gives me so much drive that it just seems easier to do that.
The last week has been busy. First examplays and then right into the last semester, plus I changed sections. The first three days of the new semester have been tiering. Getting up on our feet a lot (especially since we're just 9 people in one section), writing a lot, especially impulse writing (you literally sit in class and your teacher goes: Write a childhood memory, we'll read it in 10 minutes and then you go) Learning all the camera secrets with Scott, then get ripped into pieces in Business Class as well as Audition class after being put back together by the second Scott (Ramp) who is amazing and actually makes you stay positive. It's been a lot. For the first time ever I'm working with people I hardly know and they really up your game. If you fail now, you'll definitely loose out there. I like it, it's just tiering. So I wish I could get a bit of energy from the place I love. The never ending sound and speed, the energy, the vibe, everything that keeps you going, even if you have to get up at 5 AM in the morning. I miss New York, I really do. But one day. One day my beloved city.

Oscar Nominations

12 Weeks to go.

Isn't it crazy? Today (well yesterday) I finished with my exam play and now I'll be starting the last semester of the AADA on Wednesday. 12 Weeks to go, till we go into Showcases and then graduate. Gosh.
Today was amazing by the way. I'll be posting the cast pictures as soon as I get them from Debora. I cried, I yelled, I was a mess and I pulled myself back together again. And for once even my wall worked, I practically wasn't aware of an audience at all, except for two little things, when I had to stare out and saw Mikaela's bright red Cardigan and when I had to run across stage, trying not to fall over Charlies feet who was sitting in the first row having them way on stage. But you know, it's a show and show's go differently every time you do them. So it was nice. I didn't think I would actually like an all women cast, but then again, always be prepared for surprises. I met some good girls during those three weeks. And today we finished it off with a performance and then the celebration of Mikaelas birthday (Happy Birthday hun).
Mr. Martin was sitting in the audience as well, I did not see him, but people told me. I will have to ask him for feedback, even though I know what it's going to be like (he and Jules Aaron seem to not really agree on  some of the basics, but that's fine. Collect as many keys as you can, one will eventually fit the lock - Yes Kelsey, if there's a key, then there must be a lock)
Well, I should go now. Lot's of shows to see tomorrow (today)
Have fun, lots of love
PS: Oscar Nominations will be announced in a couple of hours - weeeee

Sunday Night.

I'm about to go over my monologue and the whole script. Tomorrow is performance day....
But some things first.
The girls and I have a new addiction:

It's not the best song ever but I like it, plus it's amazingly shot. Her dancing is just hilarious and you can ask the girls, it makes our day.

Then I found this in the Net: (Coppolas notes on the Godfather)

Now I'm gonna go work.

Pictures.

Since I wasn't really good at updating lately, I went through my phone and thought I'd share the pictures that I took last week with you:

I found an amazing Italian Restaurant

Had my boys  and Bianca night haha.

Spent a night at the ER, because a friend of ours cut his had open.

Learned how to brad.

Well at least that's something. Not to much, but something. Have a lovely weekend.

One big breath.

It's been far too long, since I last wrote, I know. LA life has gone crazy.
At the moment I'm working on projects and rewrite stuff, besides going to school, have a personal life and deal with anything that is thrown at me, so my schedule's rather filled. But today - not. I decided to take one big breath and slept till 3 PM. I needed this. For once, no one else is in my apartment, no one needs anything, just a day and the possibility to breath. I might should get some work done, since my play's going up on Monday, but really I just feel like my nerves need a minute to relax.
Tonight we're precelebrating my friends birthday, so that's going to go into the relaxing part (I hope - but you're never really sure in this city.)
I think I deserve this moment to breath, because it is like Daniel said: "Stop holding your breath girl, one day that will kill you" So I'm breathing Dan, I'm breathing.
Thank you.

The awesomeness of wearing pants.

For the last few days, no not days, weeks (!), or since I got back, I've been running around in skirts and dresses. I know, I know, not too new for me, but at least I choose to run around in skirts and dresses all the time, for the last two weeks I couldn't. Being in a 60's play you constantly run around in pencil skirts and heels (and let me tell you the length of those 60's years pencil skirts is NOT funny. You can hardly walk any stairs! But I start to figure it out). So today I woke up and was about to get on another dress, till I realized that it's Weekend. No more dresses, but pants! I could wear jeans! You don't know how comfortable jeans feel, when you haven't worn them in such a long time. I could sit however I want, do whatever I want - pure revelation!
Never mind. I'm gonna get myself back into a skirt (going to see Wicked, you can't do that in jeans) and tomorrow I will enjoy the fuck out of jeans again.
Like your pants.
Lots of love

Skyping with the girls.

This was a good morning. I overslept (completely. I wanted to get up at 9), but, I skyped with Leonie and Sonja. It was somehow late back home and it's just nice to sometimes sit outside with the girls, even though I'm just in a computer.
Miss you my lovely people.

Happy Day.

Happy Happy Day.
Good day, really, really good day.
I have an awesome costume, my director is amazing, then we got free tickets to his show and then I ran into Miss Hensel who I set up a meeting with next Tuesday. I like this day, I really do. Friday Rick is coming to town, plus we're having a long weekend ahead of us AND a Friday the 13th. Oh 2012, don't spoil me too much. haha

Gosh, this is going to be good.
Have a wonderful night lovelies. See you soon. Jack Daniels (who's now almost officially Jacky D.) sends love too.
xoxo

The Cleanness of my Apartment.

You wouldn't believe how clean my apartment is! I literally spent the weekend cleaning it and it never looked so pretty and shiny before. Not even when I first moved in. Did I already mention that i like the New Year? I probably did.
It's weird knowing that we're already half way through the rehearsals... It's kinda scary.
We started planing for my birthday yesterday. I know, my birthday's in February, but I live in LA, everyone starts planing shit way to far ahead. And actually there's not too much to plan: We gonna go to Vegas. Finally I'm going to Vegas. Kels, Paige, Mike, Charles, Nick and I. Out of those six people, it will be a birthday trip for three of them. Me of course and Charlie and Paige are turning 21. We'll see. I cannot believe I'm actually going to Vegas. I deserve to go to Vegas. It's my birthday. haha
My apartment's clean! And my bunny is happy.

Art.

The pure beauty of black and white. This is what I call art. Simple and honest. Shots in perfection. Well, look for yourself:

Somebody that I used to know.

THIS is freaking amazing! Now I don't even mind this song being stuck in my head anymore. Well I never had anything against it, but after hearing it over and over again (Mikaela was addicted to it) I kind of, yea, you know. But THIS changes everything. I love it - watch it.

Bunny's back.

Jack Daniels (or Jackie D.) is back. Unfortunately it has to stay on the balcony for a bit, because I don't want the Insect Spray to kill it.
Other then that exciting news, I also have hot water now.
And now I'm going to watch a shit load of movies. Because I can. Cruel Intentions, An Education, Breakfast at Tiffany's and All about Eve - all part of my research. How I love this.
xoxo

What a pleasure.

I just googled my director. I knew he was good. I knew he was working, you get that from talking to him or just seeing him, but I somehow did not expect THIS.
If you want to know anything about him, you should read this. It's an interview about a show he did. Well I'll leave you with that.
I feel honored to work with him.

Wednesday, 4 January 2012

We don't belong to anybody and nobody belongs to us. We don't even belong to each other.

Breakfast at Tiffany's. Did I already mention that I like Rehearsal Period and even the homework there? I think I did. Especially when you have to watch things like 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'. I forgot how much I loved that movie.
'He's all right! Aren't you, cat? Poor cat! Poor slob! Poor slob without a name! The way I see it I haven't got the right to give him one. We don't belong to each other. We just took up one day by the river. I don't want to own anything until I find a place where me and things go together. I'm not sure where that is, but I know what it is like. It's like Tiffany's.'
How I adored Holly Golightly, oh, how I still do. And Audrey Hepburn for portraying her perfectly.

I like research. Well I guess I like research because I'm in a fashion play. Haha! I just googled all the Vogue Covers of the 1960's because their a main thing in our play. I still can't figure out what to wear, but I'll find something.
My favorite Vogue Cover was probably the one in February 1964, in the US or the UK one in 1969:

Plus, the same thing happened that did last Exam Play: I fell in love with Twiggy. Unfortunately this time she really doesn't work for my Character, My Character is more of a Jackie Kennedy mixed with Audrey Hepburn type. But I still adore Twiggy. At least she's part of the 60's even though I can't use her:

Back into Reality

Back in Hollywood, back in School, back into reality. Well, I admit, I have a rather different reality then most people. But the fun stuff started again: Examplays.
Once again, I'm doing a play in the 60's, just like Moonchildren, meaning, most of the research I have already done. Good for me, means I have more time for lines.
Our director is something. I don't know yet, but he's definitely something. It's not the guy they originally planed to gave us, but he seems... interesting. He's a working director, that's something I like and next to our play he's working on two others. He expects professionalism - finally someone. So I think I'm going back to work.
Love you lovely people
let 2012 tread you well.

I almost forgot about this, but this is awesome. It fits dark cold Chicago and it makes me happy (I know it's not a happy song, but it still makes me happy)

56 Hours New Year

Happy New Year everybody!

I'm now in Chicago. It's freaking cold here, like freezing! -5 °C mit Schnee und allem.
Good thing, I'm back in good old America and they even got me a better flight to LA. Seems like LA really wants me back haha.
It's a new Year, it's a new chance. I can't wait for 2012 - well, it is 2012, but it's going to be really good. Or in Vances words: "2012. We will not brake our goals. We will achieve above and beyond. This is our year and I'll prove it" Oh I love this guy.
Did I already mention that Chicago is freezing? Not only outside, but since they actually have a WORKING train thingy which is traveling through all the gates, air constantly gets in and unfortunately my gate is right next to that train thingy, so it is cold. AND there was an asia themed transfer thingy from one gate to the other, it was awesome and slightly creepy. Lots of colorful lights and asian music. Well, my feeling of living on airports is increasing, even though I'm not going to do this too often this year.
I miss you my lovely people back home. Thank you for two awesome weeks, you are truly the best people ever! Have a fantastic 2012 and come visit me. I'm somewhere in this huge country called United States of America. You'll find me ;P
Lots of love and again: Happy New Year
<3
PS: Explaining that title... My first two days of 2012 added up have 56 hours!
